Loomish is a contemporary rug house rooted in the world of handmade carpets — shaped by heritage, guided by design, and made for the way we live today.

We believe a rug is more than something that fills a floor. It can bring warmth to a room, depth to a composition, character to a space, and a sense of belonging to the people within it.

Our roots are in Pakistan, with its long relationship with carpet-making, colour, craft and material. Our outlook is wider. We bring that heritage into conversation with contemporary interiors, creating a Loomish world that feels at home both here and around the world.

At the heart of it all is a simple idea: good rugs have a presence of their own.

Every Loomish piece is knotted by hand on a loom, one knot at a time, by people who learned it from people who learned it. There is no machine version of this. There is no faster version of this.

A rug that takes eight months to make is not slow. It is correctly paced.

Our weavers work in Pakistan, in workshops we know by name. They are paid for the work, not for the hour, and the work sets its own hour.

A rug carries the hand that made it. Look closely at a field of knots and the rhythm changes where one weaver handed over to another. We consider that the signature, not the flaw.

The loom is a vertical frame strung with warp. Everything else is patience. Rows are built upward, knot beside knot, and cut level only when the row is complete.

Nothing about the process has needed improving in six hundred years, which is its own argument.

Highland wool, spun by hand, carrying enough lanolin to hold its own against a room. It takes dye unevenly, and that unevenness is the whole point. Flat colour is a printed thing.

Where a piece asks for light we bring in silk, and only there.

Colour is decided in the vat, weeks before anyone sees the floor. Madder, indigo, walnut, pomegranate. They arrive at their final register only after washing, sun and time.

What you buy is not the colour today. It is the colour in ten years, and we choose for that.

Some pieces exist once. A drawing, a dye lot, a pair of hands, a season. When the conditions are gone the piece cannot be made again, and we do not pretend otherwise.

Bring us the room. Dimensions, orientation, where the light lands in the afternoon, what the floor is made of, what stays and what goes.

We work back from that to scale, palette, pile and weave. Any size, any shape, any register. The drawing is agreed before a single knot is tied.

We work directly with interior designers, architects and stylists. Samples, dye trials, scaled drawings, holds against a project timeline, and shipping that answers to a site date.

Hand-knotted wool wants use. Rotate it twice a year so the light moves across it evenly. Shake it out rather than beating it. Blot, never rub.

The pile will flatten in the paths people take. That is the room writing itself into the rug, and it is the best thing that can happen to one.

Each piece leaves with its own record. Where the wool came from, who dyed it, which workshop held the loom, how long it stood there, and the day it came off.

A house that cannot say this about its work is selling something else.

Rolled, never folded. Wrapped, insured and tracked, wherever the room is. Larger commissions are placed by hand.
